Event Details

Join us for a T(w)een Self Defense class for ages 11 & Up. Class will be taught by Master Corbin taekwondo instructor for THE MAT Liberty Lake. This is the second session of  a three part class, one session will be taught each month. You can sign up for all 3 or just a single session. Throughout the course your teen will learn about : Making a family plan of ways to get out of a difficult situation, How to deal with bullies without need to be physical, how to deal with adults that are inappropriate, warning signs of "grooming"/learning to see red flags. Teens will also learn physical self defense. They will learn how to create space and get away from a person that is trying to hurt them or take them somewhere they don't want to go.

Parents are encouraged to attend the class with their teens. If you can not, please accompany your teen to the first fifteen minutes of class. Master Corbin will talk with teens and parents together about the class and a parental waiver will be signed.  The library closes at 6pm. You can enter and exit the class through the east meeting room door. Signs will be posted to assist you.
